When I first got married to my husband he told me he use to worry about EVERYTHING! It made him both physically and mentally ill. He would take all the burdens of life and put it on his shoulders. After finding out he had some ulcers that were making him sick, the doctor told him he has to stop doing that. And that is just what he would do. Nothing seemed to bother him. When my first born was just 2 years old and went to give Bert and Earnie a drink of juice down the back of the TV I almost died!! LOL It was brand new…. not even 2 weeks old. I dreaded telling him what happened. When I called him at work he didn’t get mad at all, he said …. “don’t worry we’ll get a new one.” Was I relieved!!! But that simple act of just letting it go helped me to put things into a better preceptive.
There are times we are going to worry about thing…. this I know, but undue stress will end up killing you after a life time of worrying.
Now I try not to worry unless I have to. It works if you let it. But the best thing to do is divert your attentions to something more constructive if at all possible. I hope this helps someone.

Worry can be very damaging and serves no real purpose. Do not worry about that which we cannot control and if you can contol something, do so and you will never have anything to worry about.

Hello Phyllis!
That is so true, stress and worry will cause ulcers, I know I have had to deal with them myself!!! It has taken a while for me to relax and let live. It was not easy.
Your story was cute. I know kids will do the silliest things! Back when the VCR’s were just coming out I bought one. It suddenly stopped working shortly after. We took it to get fixed and the man found a G I Joe figure stuck in the machine!!!
Thank you for sharing your story

Hello Mark!
It is about control isn’t it… Hmmm…. I think most of us will agree we like to have control over our lives, and that worry comes in when the threat of losing that control becomes a reality.
Thanks for your addition! Be Well!

I can relate to this…. I am a worrier. I try so hard not to ’cause I know in the end things will work themselves out and be ok. I have gotten better with my age, but when I was a young adult, I suffered anxiety attacks. I now try and stay in the moment and just move forward.
